Drs. Carla and Maria Orlando are sisters who were born and raised in Erie with their three other sisters. They attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and Villa Maria Academy.
Dr. Carla attended Slippery Rock University and went on to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. While there, she served on the American Student Dental Association. After dental school, she was accepted into a two-year residency in periodontics, the study specializing in gum diseases and treatments, also at the University of Pittsburgh. She was thrilled to return to Erie where she lives with her husband, Laith. Dr. Carla served for many years as a consultant at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Dental Clinic and volunteered at St. Paul’s Neighborhood Clinic.
Dr. Maria attended Gannon University and then the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She received further training in a one-year residency at Pitt in Advanced Education in general dentistry. While in dental school, she served in the American Student Dental Association and was vice president of the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Dr. Maria feels fortunate to be practicing in her hometown where she lives with her husband, Neil Murphy, DC.
Both doctors are members of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Erie County Dental Association.
